Aquatic and land physiotherapy for babies, children & young people
Where is Splash Physiotherapy?
Babies and children do best in their own environments. That's why we come to you!
We can visit you at home, childcare, kindergarten, school, a local park, or your child's sport or leisure activity.
We can travel roughly half an hour from either of the pools we work at. That covers most of metro Melbourne, out towards Eltham in the north, Point Cook in the west and Sunbury in between. Upon arrangement we can travel further. Our fees differ depending on the kilometres travelled. Just get in touch and we'll see what we can work out. The NDIS covers travel.
We use community facilities for sports and recreation sessions
Examples include:
-
parks, bike paths, playgrounds
-
football ovals, basketball courts, tennis courts
-
bushwalking paths
-
partnerships with canoe club to use their facilities
-
partnerships with indoor facility in Brunswick
We have access to 2 wonderful swimming pools. Please see the footer of any page for maps and addresses.
They are indoors and heated to at least 32 degrees C year round.
About the swimming pools
Water is heated to a minimum of 32 degrees Celcius throughout the year, using a combination of gas and solar heating systems.
Both private swimming pools win awards for excellent water quality. Water is continuously treated and monitored by a computer controlled system. This is a mineral water swimming pool ("Magna pool"), using naturally produced chlorine, with back up free chlorine added if required by the automated system. The water is also continuously cleaned by UV and ozone sanitation systems.
This combination of water treatment systems gives us excellent water quality while being gentler on eyes, skin, hair and nails. You will notice a different, more subtle smell to the pool, and your skin after swimming, compared to a typical chlorinated pool.
Both pools have off street parking, change rooms with showers and baby change tables available.

Sydenham Street Swimming School, 15 Sydenham Street Moonee Ponds 3039
-
Van Dyk's Swimming Schoo, 241 Para rd, Greensborough 3088
Access
-
Moonee Ponds: one step between the waiting room and the pool. Enter the water either by the pool edge or with a 3 step ladder.
-
Greensborough: ramp with a rail to enter the building. Enter the water either by the pool edge or with a 3 step ladder.
Families manage with prams at both pools, but talk with us about access for people using walking aids and/ or wheelchairs. We will do our best to accommodate you, and can advise on the best times of day to make it easier.
If access to the building or pool does not suit, please contact us and we will try to source a pool that is safe and appropriate for you.
Many families put on a dressing gown and beanie and get changed at home rather than at the pool. We strongly recommend that where your child has falls risks, due to the nature of a busy slippery changing room, and needing to be standing or using the benches for getting changed.
We are sometimes able to use some public pools with hoists and water wheelchair entry where required.
Public transport
